Seven Letter Partner Adam Abrams Named to Emory University’s 40 Under Forty 2020 Alumni Class

WASHINGTON – Seven Letter Partner Adam Abrams was honored today as a member of the Emory University Alumni Association’s “40 Under Forty” 2020 class.

Emory’s 40 Under Forty awards program annually spotlights selected alumni across a variety of vocations for having made a significant impact in business, research, leadership, public service and/or philanthropic endeavors. Adam, a 2003 Emory University graduate, was recognized for his impressive credentials ranging from presidential campaigns, Capitol Hill, President Obama’s White House and now, Seven Letter.

Before joining Seven Letter (then Blue Engine Message & Media) in 2012, Adam served as a spokesman and regional communications director for President Barack Obama. Earlier in his career, Adam was a member of Senator John Kerry’s presidential campaign team, which became his springboard for a career in political communications. He went on to serve as communications director for Pennsylvania Congressman Patrick Murphy, the first Iraq war veteran elected to Congress, before landing in the Obama White House, where he managed communications for half the country.

“At Emory, I don’t think I could have ever dreamed that I would be working at the White House press office,” he recalls. “Finding that I was on a path that included both politics and writing, which is basically what I did in school, was really exciting. I was working with reporters every day, briefing the president and administration officials before interviews and big events, and finding compelling ways to reach the American people.”

Adam was honored along with 39 other impressive Emory graduates. The 2020 winners were selected from hundreds of nominees, representing the very best in achievement and service across the diverse and influential Emory alumni community.

“We culled through hundreds of nominees’ files, including journalists, technological innovators, social justice pioneers, and scientists, all to come up with this outstanding group of young professionals,” said Laurie Stephens-Hunter, Executive Director of Leadership Programs at the Emory Alumni Association.
